Benefits - U.S. - Time away from work

Vacation

You begin accruing vacation the day you start working, equaling more than three weeks a year for your first two years and four weeks a year (or more with increasing years of service) after that. You also receive a bonus week of vacation every five years.

Holidays

We offer paid holidays on all days that the New York Stock Exchange is closed, including Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and Good Friday.

Sick time

All associates accrue up to nine days of paid sick time per year.

Short-term disability and pregnancy benefits

We provide short-term disability benefits that replace all or part of your income at no cost to you. The amount and duration of short-term disability leave and pregnancy leave payments are based on your length of service with the Capital Group. Generally, associates are eligible for at least 90 days of paid or partially paid pregnancy leave after one year of service, as well as any additional leave allowed by federal or state laws and our short-term disability plan.

Long-term disability benefits

The Capital Group provides long-term disability benefits at no cost to you. If you become disabled and are unable to work for more than 180 consecutive days in a 12-month period, you may be eligible for up to 60% of your salary (subject to insurance guidelines).
